Whig Rose 1

Woven in February 2021, this was the first time I had put 20/2 cotton on the loom with an overshot. I had a large 20/2 cotton warped I had space-dyed with indigo but had no plan for what to use it for -- I wanted to try this out with a smaller, undyed warp to make sure it would work as I hoped! So each piece on this warp was an experiment -- with different thicknesses of yarns as the pattern weft, trying cotton and wool, using warp waste pieces to create texture in the ground cloth, trying to make shapes like chevrons and circles. I used three of the finished pieces from this warp to experiment with some dye techniques.
