This rectangular kerchief-scarf is made from both cotton and wool yarn and measuring at about 30.5 × 42.5”. Handwoven in the summer + winter weave structure from a historic coverlet profile draft with the repeating leaf motif.
A striped cotton warp of peach, yellow, gray, black, and olive green, with a wool pattern weft of tomato red and an orangey-brown and a tabby cotton weft of black. Two selvedge edges and two raw hems with an inch or less of fringe and a zig-zag machine sewn finish.
Folded once into a triangle and then wrapped once around the neck makes for a wonderfully cozy scarf but can also be tied like a kerchief or fastened with a sweater pin. Also makes a great kiddo stroller blanket.
Care + material details: Infrequent washing suggested. For the rare washer, machine wash on delicate cycle (with a mild detergent) and a hang-dry or lay flat. For the more frequent washer, delicately wash by hand using a mild pH-neutral soap and hang-dry or lay flat. Woven with mill-dyed cotton and mill-dyed wool.
